The art exhibition, held in the parking lot of the Rooms Hotel in 2015 (which I began preparing for in 2014), was, in essence, a nostalgia for sculpture. Why nostalgia? Because sculpture seems to have been forgotten in Georgia. There is no special space, no exhibition hall—somehow, it has lost the special respect it once had.

For me, this exhibition represented the restoration of sculpture's rightful/lost place. I wanted to connect sculpture, which originates in antiquity, with the present. I searched for these connections through photographs in modern magazines, where the ancient era seemed to come to life in contemporary times. What I once believed belonged only to the past turned out to have the same parallels in the present—similar connections, similar forms of expression, clothing, posture, and spatial presence.

This was also reflected in the collages, where the ancient world re-emerged in today’s reality. It was not mere coincidence but rather a continuation—the same ancient gods appearing in the Christian world. One of the key ideas of this exhibition was to highlight the unity of sculptures from different eras through their similarities. This was a surprise to me, and I believe it was for the audience as well.
